“White Table” by Delta Spirit
Meet me darlin’, won’t you?
I’ve been waiting for you
At my lonesome white table
Ready, willing, and able
Torn in two
Beaten and scarred
I’ll give you my love but not my heart
Tattered and worn
Battered and bruised
I’ll give you my love but it won’t be true
Someday darlin’ maybe
You could be my baby
Until then I’ll be waitin’
At my lonesome white table
Torn in two
Beaten and scarred
I’ll give you my love but not my heart
Tattered and worn
Battered and bruised
I’ll give you my love but it won’t be true
Just returned from seeing Delta Spirit at The Music Hall of Williamsburg. Not only are these young men fantastic musicians, they are excellent performers. Matthew Vasquez, their lead singer/guitarist, is also the stuff lead singers are supposed to be made of, and sometimes it’s fun to swoon like you’re 16 and you’ve never seen a plaid shirt look that good on anyone. But don’t let my crush take away attention from his multi- talented and versatile bandmates; they’re a true ensemble piece. The evening ended with a cover of The Isely Brother’s Shout as Vasquez abandoned the stage to lead a crowd wide dance party on the floor.
One part rock, and a whole lot of soul, do not pass up an opportunity to see this band live. Check out upcoming tourdates here. Heads up Charleston, SC folks, Delta Spirit rolls into town July 6th for a show at The Pour House. They will electrify this venue.
